Orange County Herald Center
is the Orange County branch office of Chinese Christian Herald Crusade, a

global, faith-based, non-profit organization that provide holistic care for Chinese immigrant families through the integration various services. Our mission is to assist the community by providing holistic services that are unavailable due to language and cultural barriers. We provide services in 4 general areas, 1) cancer and health, 2) youth and family, 3) Community resource, and 4) counseling.

Job Title: Youth-In-Action Program Assistant Compensation: Stipend Internship Supervisor: YIA Minister Weekly Hours: 10-15hours

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the YIA Minister, the YIA Program Assistant will support the training, the guidance, and the evaluation of a group of 8 to 10 middle and high school students during events and training. OCHC’s Youth-in-Action Program equips youth by arranging OC community services and volunteer opportunities, help build up student characters, teaching biblical core values, and help students develops leadership skills.

Specific Duties

  •   Serve as a role model and mentor to the student leaders and students

  •   Work along with student on community service and trainings by provide advice and guidance where

    necessary

  •   Attend weekly counselor/student leader meeting

  •   Coordinate with student leaders and students in between events

  •   Monitor, evaluate students and student leadersprogress and growth.

  •   Provide suggestion or advice to encourage student character and leadership skill growth

  •   Promote group spirit and bonding

    Requirements:

  •   Experience in working with youth (preferred)

  •   Passionate to build up the youth

  •   Able to commit the YIA scheduled hours (Wednesday afternoon, and Saturday morning)

  •   Positive working attitude

  •   Able to follow up and through

  •   Able to work well with others

  •   Effective communication skills

    *not limit to internship position, open to intern students.

OCHC’s Youth-in-Action Program equips youth by arranging OC community services and volunteer opportunities, help build up student characters, teaching biblical core values, and help students develops leadership skills.

    •   Conduct and coordinate Community service events and training

    •   Develop appropriate activities that helps student develop skills, teamwork and character

    •   Prepare and conduct for weekly counselor/student leader meeting

    •   Coordinate with counselors, student leaders, and students in between events

    •   Monitor, evaluate students, student leaders, and counselor progress and growth.

    •   Provide suggestion or advice to encourage student character and leadership skill growth

    •   Create team spirit and bonding

      Requirements:

    •   Experience in working with youth

    •   Passionate to build up and outreach to the youth

    •   Able to commit the YIA scheduled hours (Wednesday afternoon, and Saturday morning)

    •   Well-organized, well-planned, and effective time management

    •   Able to make sound judgment, effective problem solving.

    •   Positive working attitude

    •   Able to follow up and through

    •   Able to work well with others

    •   Effective communication and writing skills
